Airport Shuttle Service

The Texans Shuttle counters are located in the baggage claim area of terminals A, B, and C of IAH. The only other terminal you may be flying into other than A, B, or C, would be Terminal E (the new Continental Terminal). However, Terminal E shares the baggage claim area with Terminal C, so it shouldn't be a problem. To see which terminal you will be flying into, check out: http://www.fly2houston.com/iahAirlines

If you are flying into Hobby airport, there are two terminals, http://www.fly2houston.com/houAirlines , and you will find the counter for the Texans Shuttle in the baggage claim areas.

Texans Shuttle takes all major credit cards. If you are planning to take the shuttle service back to the airport, you may want to buy a round trip ticket. Cost for the shuttle service will be:

IAH - $18.00 each way ($36.00 round trip)

Hobby - $15.00 each way ($30.00 round trip)

Texans Shuttle will drop you off at the University of Houston Hilton. If you are staying in the Hilton for Immersion, please check in for your room at the registration desk. If you are staying in the dorms for Immersion, we will start check-in at Oberholtzer Hall Lobby at 3pm. If you arrive on campus earlier than 2:30, please walk to the M.D. Anderson Library (2 minute walk from Hilton) and stop by the Information Desk. We will store your luggage in the M.D. Anderson Library and bring it to the dorms for you later. We will have a golf cart to ferry luggage from the Hilton to the dorms (a 5 minute walk). If you arrive on campus after 2:30, we will meet you in the Hilton Lobby, in front of the elevators, to transport your luggage and direct you to the dorms for check in.

Dorm check in will end at 6pm so that we have time to get ready for the Opening Reception which starts at 7:30.

Directions to Campus

If you are driving to campus, directions are:

1. Southbound on I-45 (from downtown). Exit Spur 5 South (44B). Turn right at the first stop light onto University Drive, Entrance One. Parking garage is on corner of Calhoun and University Drive.

2. Northbound on I-45 (from Galveston). Exit Elgin/Cullen (44A). Turn left on Elgin. Go under freeway to second light and turn left. Turn right at first light onto University Drive. Cross Calhoun into Entrance 1. Parking garage is on corner of Calhoun and University Drive.

3. Southbound on US-59 (from Humble). Exit to I-45 South. See # 1.

4. Northbound on US-59 (from Sugarland). Exit to I-45 South. See # 1.

5. Westbound on I-10 (from Baytown). Take US-59 South. Exit almost immediately to I-45 South. See # 1.

6. Eastbound on I-10 (from Katy). Exit to I-45 South. See # 1.

Parking on Campus

A parking permit is available for $10. This will allow you to park in the lot closest to the dorms from July 14-19. To receive a permit, contact Clara Fowler at fowler@uh.edu by Tuesday, July 11. At registration, we will collect $10 from you either in cash (exact change please) or by check.

If you wish to have covered parking, you can park for $8/day in the garage which is located across the street from the Hilton. You will pay for the garage when you exit. The parking garage is Building 533, on University Dr. at Entrance 1.

If you are driving to campus, plan to arrive between 3-6 to check into your dorm room. You will drive into Entrance 7 and park in Lot 7A. If there are no spaces in Lot 7A, park across the street in Lot 9A. Look for Oberholtzer Hall and enter the Lobby to find our registration desk.
